Audemars Piguet + KAWS = $1 MIL?
New Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Tourbillon
Audemars Piguet “shocked” the watch world with a limited edition colab w street artist KAWS. This titanium Royal Oak Concept Tourbillon is made in an edition of 200 wth a price of about $225K. In our vide review below, we explain why this could soon be a $1 million watch.
AP is sticking to it’s script of appealing to INFANTILE fantasies of the 1% (Spider Man, Black Panther, Arnold Schwarzenegger, lol). But this time they struck Anfernee Farrer-level marketing genius with KAWS. This collab is a GAME CHANGER because AP is no longer competing with other watch brands. Instead the comps are KAWS editions and art which can go for $14 million+. It’s no longer just a watch. Now it’s wearable “ART”. So why can’t it sell for $1 mil+ like some KAWS editions? This watch will appeal to a cross-over of deep-pocketed art collectors and watch buyers. Genius! KAWS has a massive Asia following, probably because he is Hello Kitty + Picasso in one.
Speaking of ART & WATCHES….we’re launching our first dialMKT AUCTION on December 4th, and bidding is now open! The auction features vintage watches and a curated selectioncovering 500 years of art history - from 1500’s to 1980’s. Highlights include Andy Warhol original drawing, Patek Philippe, Rolex, and this Audemars Piguet dual time (below) with a low estimate of just $30,000. To undwerstand what a great value this is, take a look at the VIDEO link below iwth Tim Mosso of WatchBox/1916 who explains what makes this the PERFECT AP Royal Oak. Tim is selling the steel version for $37K. Why not get the full 18k GOLD for less?
