With growing collector interest in independent avant garde watch makers, collectors are focusing on important complications from brands like MB&F and Urwerk. The Phillips September 12 watch auction in Geneva, featured a tightly curated selection of 70 lots, and included many indy’s.
Below, this space-age design Urwerk, Ref# UR-103 in white gold from a limited edition of 25, sold for $56,000, well above an estimate of $24,000-44,000.

Below, this circa 2010 MB&F Ref# 20.DT in pink ink gold and titanium, features instantaneous jump hour, with retrograde minutes, date, and bi-hemisphere moon phases. One of only 29 made in this configuration. Soared above conservative estimates of $20,000-$40,000 - selling for $120,000. A reasonable price given the rising market interest in MB&F.

At FutureGrail’s Singapore auction, This Patek Philippe circa 1944 Calatrava Ref 1491 sold for $27,300 soaring above the high estimate of $10,000-20,000.
